Columbia County, WA

In this blog's recognition of Washington's 39 counties, each of the next 39 posts on Commoner will be named in honor of a county, in alphabetical order starting with Adams. The county that is recognized on a particular day does not necessarily correlate with the particular topic chosen for that day other than in the general sense.

THE MONTANA ELECTION LAW CASE

The U.S. Supreme Court, unfortunately, doubled down on their controversial Citizens United decision and essentially overturned Montana's election law that specifically regulated corporate money in elections, and now billionaires and multi-millionaires can not only spend unlimited amounts of funds in federal elections, but in state elections as well, moving our nation ever closer to complete rule by oligarchy.  This is an issue in the Lieutenant Governor election as well as the 3 Establishment-endorsed candidates, Brad Owen, Bill Finkbeiner and Glenn Anderson, have had and will have corporate money at their convenience…
