Clarification

Regarding recent posts in "Commoner" which says that there are one million spies in the federal government, this does not mean that all the people with top secret security clearances, referred to in the recent Washington Post report by Dana Priest and William Arkin, are federal employees. Most of these people work for companies that contract with the federal government or are independently contractors themselves, also working for the government.  Given the present political climate in America, some astute observers of our police state expect this number to increase dramatically as time goes by; very sad.
