Democracy at Bay
Demagogues are afoot: in the government, with their one million spies; on television and radio, with media clowns spewing propaganda relentlessly, especially on FOX follies; and in certain quarters of the antidemocracy crowd, where the long tradition of religious liberty that America was practically founded on would be forsaken if they gained political power.
The federal demagogues, through their unconstitutional powers, namely the so-called Patriot Act, with their one million spies, based on fear and tyranny, are spying on virtually all dissenters and political activists, which pretty much throws out the window the notion of the "Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave."
Political demagogues, eager to polarize the general public in order to win elections, would throw out one of the finest sections of the U.S. Constitution, the 14th Amendment, which theoretically guarantees equality of law and citizenship rights.
More than ever, fascist ideologues and demagogues are trying to overturn the idea of democracy and freedom in America: democracy at bay.
