The Monsanto Colossus and Washington State

Vote for Initiative 522: Insisting on Your Right to Know and Save the World's Natural Agricultural System Before It's Too Late

It was a very big setback for sane agriculture, food safety, and food choice when California defeated their Proposition for mandatory labeling of GMO (genetically modified organisms) foods.  How people could deny themselves the right to know what's in the food they eat, especially given the controversy over GMOs, is beyond ridiculous.  It's not as if California's Labeling Proposition was going to ban GMOs for anybody that could care less than a rat's fink what they consume as long as it tastes good, but only give them the easily available option of eating the insidious and largely untested GMOs or not.  These people can eat anything they want, but why should they deny themselves the option of at least changing their minds if they should suddenly become enlightened about what's going on with the food industry?  GMO tinkering with general agriculture is not old-fashioned cross-pollination, but the dangerous unleashing of genetic contamination of seeds and plants on a global scale and a whole new bizarre world of agriculture where even more dangerous scientific manipulations would be set loose to adapt to what would be the ruin of the natural planting system if Monsanto & Company is not stopped.  It's like dominoes.  If Monsanto and Co. succeed in knocking down the entire natural plant order, then farmers will have to put up one degraded artifice after another in order to maintain what's left of agriculture.  It would be a pretty bleak world if this Monsanto monster, and their chemical compatriots, are not at least held back and isolated in whatever little Frankensteinian patch of land they can be relegated to, and that would be the very least of what the government could do.  Although, not surprisingly, the fraudster Obama administration and their Agriculture Secretary, Tom Vilsack, actually props up this Colossus of the Bizarre.  But now that the "Monsanto, et al." behemoth has laid waste to California (but hopefully the Golden State will pick itself up and try again), it'll be coming to Washington to try to defeat our Initiative 522.  It's not enough for it to gobble up the biggest state in the Union, now it'll be coming for our state, Vermont, and other states not particularly friendly to the overall GMO laboratory.  We, Washington state, must take up the challenge, like David versus Goliath, because if it's the end of agriculture, it's the end of history.  This is very serious business, on a par with confronting our other serious dilemmas: the nuclear genie and global warming.

If possible, please, consider contributing to the Party of Commons, which has scores of members, by sending a check or money order ($10 recommended) to Mark Greene's Party of Commons or $10 to the U.S. Representative Campaign that will be on the ballot in 2014 (to Mark Greene for Congress); for either address, write to P.O. Box 612, Bellevue, WA 98009. Thank you!

Mark is probably the only politician in Washington that had the temerity to keep the 2004 election shenanigans in the news as late as 2013 and to call out names. Help us solve the mystery of "The Other Curious Election of 2004" (WA 9th Congressional District U.S. Rep. primary) by contacting real journalists and asking them to look into it. Please, ask these journalists to use "Freedom of Information" requests to get to the bottom of this case. Elections are too important for shams to be ignored and for accountability to be neglected.
